The numbers, dates and times you enter are calculated in your browser. They are not sent to our server, and they don't go into analytics. This page explains what the site does keep, where it's kept and for how long.
The numbers you enter
Calculations run in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent anywhere. Analytics events record which calculator you used and what you did, for example that you pressed Calculate, but never the numbers themselves.
What stays in your browser
Some things are saved in your browser's session storage so the site works as expected:
- your History list with recent calculations, so you can press Use to take a result into the next calculation;
- in the Scientific calculator, the angle mode, the memory (M) and the last answer;
- navigation notes: which page you came from and which calculators you opened in this tab.
Session storage lasts only while the tab is open. Close the tab and it's gone. Pressing Clear wipes your History list right away.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, to see how the site is used. It runs in Consent Mode v2.
Before you answer the cookie bar, and if you press Decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google then receives only anonymous cookieless pings.
If you press Accept, Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<ID> and records:
- page views and which calculator is open;
- taps and clicks: calculating, using a result, copying, switching units or time format, clearing History;
- general information about your device and browser;
- your approximate country.
There are no ads on the site. Google Signals is off, and the data isn't shared with advertising services. Google Analytics keeps event data for 2 months, the shortest period it offers.
Changed your mind? The Cookie settings link in the footer opens the cookie bar again. If you press Decline there, analytics stops and the _ga cookies are deleted.
Hosting
The site runs on a Hetzner server in Germany and reaches you through Cloudflare, which works as a CDN and protects the site. As with any website, both see your IP address and technical details of each request: browser, time and page address. This is used to deliver the page and to protect the site from attacks.
There are no accounts, forms, newsletters or ads on the site.
Your rights
If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR) or in California (CCPA), you can ask to see your data, ask us to delete it, or object to its use. Almost everything is stored only in your own browser, so clearing this site's data in your browser deletes it.
Analytics is based on your consent. Storage in your browser is needed for the features described above to work.
We don't sell your data.
Children
The site is for everyone, including schoolchildren. There are no accounts or forms, so we never ask anyone, including children, for a name, email or age. Analytics runs only if you accept.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the Last updated date at the top changes too.
